Research with an honest status.
An experimental blockchain platform in Go — real P2P networking and post-quantum signatures, openly documented as non-production.
Challenge
The problem.
Exploring post-quantum signatures and peer-to-peer networking needs a real environment — not a slide deck. At the same time, experimental status must stay explicit so nobody mistakes research for production readiness.
Quantix exists to learn in the open: run a node, measure it, document limits, and keep the trust story honest.
Approach
How we approached it.
01
Honest status
Non-production status is documented up front — research stays research.
02
Real P2P
Networking is exercised as an actual peer network, not a simulated stub.
03
Post-quantum signatures
CRYSTALS-Dilithium is integrated so cryptographic choices can be evaluated in a live stack.
04
Operable experiments
PostgreSQL-backed state and Prometheus metrics make runs measurable.
05
Tidied documentation
Findings and limits are written down so the work compounds.
What we built
What we delivered.
Blockchain node
A Go node for experimental chain operation and local validation paths.
P2P networking
libp2p-based peer networking for real network behaviour.
Post-quantum crypto
Dilithium-based signatures integrated into the security path.
Data & operations
PostgreSQL state with operational tooling for repeatable runs.
Observability
Prometheus metrics so experiments produce evidence, not anecdotes.
Console & packaging
Supporting web console and packaging experiments around the node.
Architecture
System at a glance.
A Go node with libp2p networking, post-quantum signatures, PostgreSQL-backed state and Prometheus metrics. Surrounding services support exploration — not a production claim.
Documentation of limits is part of the deliverable: the value is what the experiment proves and disproves.

Metrics
What we learned
What we take forward.
- 01
Calling research “experimental” is a product decision — ambiguity creates the wrong kind of trust.
- 02
Post-quantum choices only teach something when they run inside a real stack with real operational friction.
- 03
Metrics turn experiments into evidence; without them, every run is a story.
Next steps
What’s next.
- Further protocol and signature experiments under the same honest status label.
- Richer operator visibility for node health and peer behaviour.
- Selective hardening only where a path graduates beyond research.
